Stop.
Pause.
Take a breath.
You don’t have to move or do anything.
Take a couple of minutes to calm your heartbeat.
Your feet are on solid ground.
The air around you is good to breathe.
Get a drink of water and sit for a moment.
These moments HAPPEN.
They do.
The timing of these moments is usually perfectly awful, right when you’re heading out of the door to get somewhere, or when you’re beyond tired and your last nerve is so frayed you’re not sure you can handle. One. More. Thing.
So many hugs to you, mama!!!
First off, let me reassure you, you are STILL a good mom.

This moment is NOT reflective of your current success or failure. It is a moment. And an opportunity to get rid of some yuck that you or your child(ren) are dealing with.
Satan loves to bring up baggage when we feel the squeeze on our time.
We can literally have a choice…be on time and save the baggage for later, or we can be later and deal with it and get some heart-healing for ourselves and our children.
A lot of the time, the desire to not be late can be overpowering, and so we wrestle our family unit out of the door, and “kick the can” further down the road.
Of course, there are absolutely times when we just *have* to leave, no matter what state everyone is currently in. We go and do what we need to do and make the best of it.
But.
In the middle of the overwhelm and the “NOT one more thing” mental attack that happens, try pausing, taking a deep breath, and then asking Holy Spirit what He wants you to do.

He knows you.
He knows your children.
And He wants the BEST for all of you and loves you SO much!
If He is gently leading you to stay a couple of minutes and address what’s going on, then I encourage you to listen and do what He’s saying or showing you to do.
Holy Spirit wants you and your child(ren) to be free. And He knows just what to do to make that happen.
The reason this “all Hell breaking loose” seems to happen at the worst moments is because Satan DOESN’T want you to stop what you’re doing to address the situation.
Instead, he wants you to get mad and frustrated so you can’t clearly see what’s actually going on, and maybe he can even get you to believe a lie about your children or yourself in the process.
This is just how Satan works.
The more crazy we feel, the better. The more lies we believe, the better. The more he can steal, kill, and destroy our lives and the lives of our children, so much the better.
“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).” - John 10:10 AMPC
So, since we know that this is his M.O. (mode of operation), we can now spot it and counter his attack by inviting Holy Spirit into the situation and doing what He says or shows us to do.
It might feel strange.
It might not make sense.
But Holy Spirit is always right and knows everything…and always wants what’s best for all of us.
“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” - Jeremiah 29:11 AMPC
Holy Spirit can be trusted.
So, in the crazy moments, pause, breathe, invite (Holy Spirit), and listen. Then do whatever you’re lead to do and move on with your day. You and your children will go forward into the future, lighter and happier, and much more free.
The peace and joy that this exercise brings is worth every minute of the “oh MAN, we’re late” chagrin.
I promise. And so does Jesus.
It’s going to be a great day!
You’ve got this, mama.
Xoxoxo
Kristi
