Little Flock, Big Destiny

Mama, the work you do is important.

If you’ve heard it from no one else yet, let me be the first to tell you that what you’re doing is worth it. Really.

Looking around my front room at all six of my children, I was hit with the thought that they are such a small flock, yet I am entrusted by their (and my) Daddy God to care for, raise, and teach them.

Wow.

There is a weight to that realization, and I pray we all see it as mothers.

Whether you have “pastor” as part of your title or not, you and I have been called to shepherd (pastor) these precious little (and not so little) ones.

Our tiny congregations are relying on us for pretty much everything. That’s a lot.

How do we do all of this?

By relying on the One who entrusted us with these treasures in the first place and by allowing Him to continue to shepherd US.

It’s going to be okay.

We aren’t meant to be the end-all, be-all for our children, we are made to be enough for what they need, and then we have to point them back to their loving and perfect Daddy God.

We fall and we fail, time and time again…and God knows all of this and STILL gives us our tiny humans. He knows what He is doing.

Can I encourage you to take your job as a mom more seriously than you ever have before? There is no time to lose. We are living in some incredible days that have all the signs of Jesus’ soon return.

Because of this, our enemy, Satan, has really upped his game and is attacking in any and every way he can possibly think of, and we and our children are the target.

Press into Jesus. Get His strategies for your mothering, for the “pastoring” of your little flock. Do not underestimate the responsibility He has placed on us as mothers. We will be called to account for the job that we did.

Now, please hear me. The job you do as a mother has NO impact whatsoever on your salvation status. Once you have Jesus in your heart, you are covered in His blood, anointed, equipped, and empowered for the work at hand. It is through HIS strength and wisdom that we mother, not our own.

What I am endeavoring to do, is to spur you on to even greater levels of mothering that you never thought were possible. To take the amazing, real gold from heaven (our children), and steward it well.

It is absolutely possible to do all of this through the grace that is in (and IS) Christ Jesus.

Please, mama, don’t try to do all of this on your own. It won’t work and you’ll burn out.

Get Jesus in your heart. Give Him your mothering and let Him lead your life.

That is the only path of success.

Our children were born specifically for NOW. They are equipped with what they need to weather the current storms, and we are called, as mothers, to step up and guide, teach, and train them in the way they should go.

It’s going to be okay.

Yes, this is WAY bigger than all of us. That’s a good thing! This is how world change is started and completed…what we do as mothers with the children that we have been given.

So, step up to the plate! Take a swing and know that not a single minute is wasted, not in your life or your children’s lives.

You’ve got this!!!

Go mama, go!

Xoxoxo

  1. Kristi, your words resonate deeply with every mother out there. The work of a mother is indeed vital and often underappreciated. Your reminder that we are entrusted with the precious responsibility of shepherding our children’s hearts is powerful.

In these challenging times, it’s crucial to lean on our faith and rely on the One who gave us this incredible role. Your encouragement to take our job as mothers seriously and seek guidance from Jesus is a beacon of light for all moms.

Thank you for reminding us that we are not alone on this journey and that we can find strength and wisdom through Him. Your message is a source of inspiration, reminding us that we are equipped to guide our children through the storms of life. We’ve got this, indeed!
