This is a super yummy, super easy, one-pot recipe. It is budget conscious, and can be made using a wide variety of ingredients.
Hot and delicious, it is sure to satisfy every time!
- 1lb ground meat
- (Can use beef, turkey, pork, Italian sausage or any ground game meat.)
- 1 jar marinara sauce
- 1 box lasagna noodles
- (Do not use oven ready noodles)
- 6-8 cups chicken broth
- Shredded mozzarella for garnish
Optional:
You can add chopped onion and garlic and sauté it in with the meat.
This is an optional step; it is just as yummy without this, but it is something that would enhance the flavor if you have the time and budget.
Using a large pot, brown hamburger or whatever ground meat you are using, drain fat if desired.
In pan with cooked meat, add all of the chicken broth and the jar of marinara and bring to a light boil.
Use as much chicken broth as you would like. If you use more, your soup will be more liquidy, and if you use less, it will be thicker.
After that mixture is at a low boil, break apart lasagna noodles into bite-size pieces and drop into the pot. You will not need to use the entire box of noodles. The more noodles you use, the more thick and dense the soup will be.
Gently boil the soup until the noodles are soft and tender and ready to eat. Serve with shredded mozzarella cheese as a garnish on top.
This meal is delicious on its own, and also be served with garlic bread and/or salad.
