This is such a fun activity to do with your kids around Easter!
- Package of refrigerated canned crescent rolls
- Large marshmallows
- Cinnamon sugar mixture
Preheat oven to 400°.
Place a large marshmallow on a flattened refrigerator crescent roll.
Talk about how Jesus (the marshmallow, because His love is the sweetest!) was prepared for the grave (the roll) with oil and spices.
Sprinkle the cinnamon and sugar mixture over the marshmallow representing being prepared for burial.
Take the time to seal the edges of each crescent roll very, very well. If you have a silicone baking sheet you will want to use it.
Place all of your sealed marshmallows in crescent roll pouches on your baking sheet.
Explain how a stone was rolled in front of the grave to seal it.
Bake the rolls at 400° for about 12 minutes to represent Jesus being in the grave for 3 days.
After the rolls have baked and are removed, gently rip or cut them open to represent the tomb being opened and you will see that Jesus is alive! He is not there, He is risen!
This is a super fun visual demonstration for kids, and afterward you have a delicious Easter treat!
