Mama.
Breathe.
It’s okay.
To cry. To celebrate. To wonder and marvel at what and who they’ve become. To reminisce about times past when things were especially sweet or funny or very challenging.
God knows.
God sees.
And He is hugging you right now.
Grab a tissue, blow your nose, and let this precious truth sink into your heart and soul: they will always be yours.
They will always be your children and you will always be their mom. This never changes.
This is hope. This is life. This is also the challenge and part of the gifting and calling of motherhood.
We get to move with our children through (most) all of their stages of life.
Who else gets to do this?
Who else gets the privilege of being up close and very personal with these special human beings sent from God Himself?

We do!
We are blessed! We are honored! We are privileged!
It can hurt though, moving from one season to the next, from one age grouping to the next…babydom, toddlerhood, childhood, preteen, teen, adult, etc.
We can get so used to the current stage they (and we with them) are in that it can come as a shock when it’s time to move on.
Remember, it has always been challenging in one way or another, this journey of motherhood. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, no, not in the least. It means we get to grow, too.
Perhaps the heart pangs we feel as our children leave one stage behind and reach for the next are our own “growing pains”…and this is okay and good. We all need to keep on growing, learning, developing, and maturing…us and our children together.
This is a good process created by God, and He is with us every step of the way! Holding our hand, hugging us when we need it, drying our tears, and cheering us on in the amazing work that we are doing.
Motherhood is worth it. Every bit.
“Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). [I Pet. 5:7.]” - Psalm 55:22 AMPC
“Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. [Ps. 55:22.]” - 1 Peter 5:7 AMPC
You’ve got this mama!
Love and hugs,
Kristi
