Mama, You DON’T Have To Do The Thing

Whatever it is.

That one more “have to” that rings through your brain at night, sometimes keeping you awake, robbing you of sleep and peace.

That feeling of anxiety and an inward voice that says “what will they think?”

That one holiday tradition that you hate, but you do it anyway for fear of censure or disapproval if you don’t do it.

One or more foods that you want to eat, but have the hardest time doing so because of all the fear-mongering out there.

That last load of laundry at the end of the day that feels like climbing Mt. Vesuvius…super difficult to climb and then it all explodes on you anyway in the form of MORE hampers full of dirty clothes tomorrow.

That one meal your children love and WILL EAT that the voice inside your head makes you feel super guilty about making and serving.

Various obligations, good or not so good (now that you really think about it), that require that last little bit of energy you’re not sure you want to part with just yet.

That one friend that all of a sudden dropped out of your life (or into it) unceremoniously and the effect of it is super draining emotionally.

Any of the myriad of things we, as women, mothers, sisters, and friends encounter on a daily basis…

You don’t have to.

You can say no.

No.

NO.

It’s all right. Breathe in and exhale “no.”

Not right now.

Maybe later.

Make space for yourself. You need to do this.

Do not fall into the trap of becoming a slave to everyone and everything around you.

These things, people, and activities do NOT determine your worth, value, identity, or ability to be loved.

They don’t.

So don’t give them the power to do that.

Because, you ARE powerful! You are YOU. And the world needs YOU, not what you think you should be, but what you were MADE to be.

You CAN revoke permission for these negative voices to speak to you or have anymore power over your life, your happiness, and your peace.

DO. IT.

You will be so much happier, freer, and much more able to go about your day doing things that bring value where you are.

It doesn’t matter what anyone else thinks.

What does Jesus think? Holy Spirit? Father God?

They are the ONLY ones whose opinions matter…They make up the amazing Triune God who CREATED YOU. He knows what you need. He knows what’s actually important and what’s not.

He knows.

So, the next time you feel like hyperventilating about your to-do list or whatever else is bothering you, go to Him. Get what He says and act on it.

I promise you will be filled with peace and joy, you will feel very accomplished, and you’ll be able to do it from a deep place of rest.

Shut out the other voices.

Just listen to Jesus.

He LOVES you!!!

And He’ll never guide you wrong.

Much love and blessings mamas,

Kristi

Xoxoxo

P.S. You CAN do this!!!
