O, dishwasher!
How thankful I am for thee!
How thou dost wash (almost) all my dishes keeping me labor-free…
From washing them all by hand,
Which I have done these past four months,
With varying levels of success.
When good I felt not,
When sickness or malady took me down,
WOW, the dishes, did pile up!
Like unto Mt. Everest at times,
Leaving me feeling tempted to cry, “overwhelmed!”
Or, “I cannot!”
And sit in a sorry-self puddle
Wishing
For less dishes…
Or at least,
A dishwashing machine
That worked.
Thankful as I am for dishes and the foods prepared and eaten upon them,
Like it, do I NOT, the inevitable required cleaning and washing that comes after.
Thou dost not know what thou hast
Until it leaveth thee…
Then, too late, tears of regret fall,
For not seeing,
Not knowing,
Not realizing,
Not being thankful,
For the blessing
That is a dishwasher.
God bless dishwashers!
Human and machine,
But if my preference is asked,
I will say to you,
I much prefer the machine.
Cheers to working dishwashers!

This post is a jolly one, and I had a lot of fun writing it, but in all seriousness, how often do we take such things for granted?
Mamas, it can be truly painful and difficult when a machine we’ve relied on goes out and we have to do things by hand.
Cheer up!
You CAN do this!
Perhaps this is an opportunity for your children to be of more help to you than they normally are, and when said machine is restored to you, SUCH joy will be felt! You might even want to throw a party.
Much love you,
Kristi
