Keep Your Eyes On The Reward

Because it’s real.

And it’s waiting for you, increasing in value and size as you continue on in your mothering.

Let’s be real for a moment…

Motherhood can be very hard. There is much of it that no one ever sees, except God.

We plant seeds, daily, into our children’s lives, hoping and praying for a wonderful harvest in the future.

Seeds of good manners, good character, training them up in the “way they should go” (i.e. what they were created to do and the tools they need to do it), etc.

It takes TIME, PATIENCE, and PERSEVERANCE to do this day in, and day out, continuing to plant, plant, plant, and BELIEVING our work is worth it.

Well, it is!

Our work is definitely worth it.

And God knows that. He rewards those things done in secret, that no one else sees, because He knows they have immense value and cost us a lot to do and KEEP ON DOING.

“But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.” – Matthew 6:3-4, 6 NIV

Keep on keeping on, mama! You’ve got this!

Here’s a couple of key scriptures to speak and keep before your eyes when things get tough…

“And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” – Hebrews 12:1b-2 NIV

“By faith Moses, when he had grown up, refused to be known as the son of Pharaoh’s daughter. He chose to be mistreated along with the people of God rather than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. He regarded disgrace for the sake of Christ as of greater value than the treasures of Egypt, because he was looking ahead to his reward.” – Hebrews 11:24-26 NIV

So, when your mothering starts to feel like a drudgery and all you can see is the part of the iceberg that lies BELOW the water, take heart.

There is One who sees every MOLECULE of that iceberg that is your motherhood, and is so happy and proud of you!

He’s right there beside you, cheering you on, and encouraging you to lift your eyes and see the reward He has for all of your hard, hard work.
