Mama, It Doesn’t All Rest On You

It really doesn’t.

Being a mother is a tall order and God knows it…and chose us and equipped us to do it.

It can absolutely feel like the future of your children rests solely on your own shoulders.

Let me set you free from that lie…it doesn’t.

Sure, we, as moms, have a MAJOR part to play in the raising, care of, and training up of the children God gives us, but we are NOT the “end-all-be-all” for them.

God is the One Who imparts identity to His children.

God is the One Who provides.

God is the One Who protects.

God is the One Who creates a GOOD future with a hope that does not disappoint for each one of us and our children.

Do we mess up? Of course!

Are we perfect? Absolutely not.

All of this is actually very good because it continually points us and our children to Christ and our eternal need for Him and everything that He is.

If we were perfect parents, our children would worship us and not God.

If we never messed up, always had all of the wisdom and knowledge of what to do and when, our children would run to us instead of to God.

Here’s the tear…in our heart of hearts as moms, we SO desire to be all of that and more for our children! But, then the whole point of our motherhood would be lost.

We are made mothers by God in order to nurture and raise His children made in His image and likeness, who KNOW who they are and WHOSE they are, who defeat Hell on a daily basis, and spread the Kingdom of Heaven wherever they go.

It’s not about us; it’s all about God.

And what a privilege it is to participate in His grand and glorious plans for our lives!

“For God so greatly loved and dearly prized the world that He [even] gave up His only begotten (unique) Son, so that whoever believes in (trusts in, clings to, relies on) Him shall not perish (come to destruction, be lost) but have eternal (everlasting) life.
For God did not send the Son into the world in order to judge (to reject, to condemn, to pass sentence on) the world, but that the world might find salvation and be made safe and sound through Him.” - John 3:16-17 AMPC

Mother, you are greatly loved and dearly prized by God! The work you do is eternally important and NONE of it goes unnoticed by Him.

He loves you and wants to carry all of your burdens and worries. Your shoulders aren’t meant to carry it all, but His are.

Release the entirety of your motherhood and mothering to Him, and receive His yoke and burden instead. There will be so much PEACE!

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy-laden and overburdened, and I will cause you to rest. [I will ease and relieve and refresh your souls.]
Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle (meek) and humble (lowly) in heart, and you will find rest (relief and ease and refreshment and recreation and blessed quiet) for your souls. [Jer. 6:16.]
For My yoke is wholesome (useful, good–not harsh, hard, sharp, or pressing, but comfortable, gracious, and pleasant), and My burden is light and easy to be borne.” - Matthew 11:28-30 AMPC

All in all, mama, it’s going to be okay.

Rest in the fact that you are LOVED, far and beyond anything you can ever imagine, and that the God who created you is making all things new in your life.

Invite Him in. Let Him take charge and carry the burden of motherhood that is crushing your soul and bruising your shoulders. I know for a fact that He WANTS to.

Be loved and so blessed!

You’ve got this, mama.

Xoxoxo
