It’s a journey and a process.
Sometimes, I’d rather arrive at the end of it all, RIGHT NOW, healed, whole, restored, and all in a matter of seconds (which God has totally done!), however I am finding that He also loves the process of healing and the journey to wholeness.
This can mean revisiting memories we’d rather leave behind and forget forever. It means allowing Him to dig up, uncover, and bring into the light, whatever He sees is hurting us and holding us back.
This can be a very painful process. At the very least it is uncomfortable. But very necessary.
We don’t know what heart wounds we may have that are festering and causing us problems, but He sees it all. He knows every single instance of hurt, trauma, and sorrow, and He wants to heal us and set us free from it all.
He loves us that much!
It requires being vulnerable and brave. We have to fully trust in His faithfulness, His kindness, and His love and compassion for us. His plans for us truly are for our good and to bring us a hope and a future.
“For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.” - Jeremiah 29:11 AMPC
“The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love. The Lord is good to everyone. He showers compassion on all his creation. The Lord helps the fallen and lifts those bent beneath their loads. The Lord is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. He grants the desires of those who fear him; he hears their cries for help and rescues them.” - Psalms 145:8-9, 14, 18-19 NLT

A lot of times, in the process of healing, lies are unearthed and exposed alongside unforgiveness, trauma, and heart hurt. Guilt, shame, and condemnation usually are in there somewhere too. All of that needs to be removed (sometimes renounced), and then replaced with truth, forgiveness, and Holy Spirit restoration, which will bring freedom and complete healing.
That’s a lot to go through, sort out, and heal from.
But God is capable, able, and WILLING to do what it takes to get us healed and set free! He will be there the whole time, calming, protecting, and healing us. He wants us restored back to more than before, to a life so abundant and so amazing we could hardly dream of it!
“Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” - Ephesians 3:20 NLT
“A thief has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy. But I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect —life in its fullness until you overflow!”- John 10:10 TPT
So, the next time something from your past comes to light, is brought up, or triggered, take it to Jesus and get what He has to say about it. Ask Him what He wants to do, and then allow Him to do it. I promise the healing and freedom is worth the journey and the process.
Much love to you, mamas! You CAN do this.
