Silence Is Not Always Golden

When we become mothers, the space and time we had to ourselves suddenly changes.

Baby cries may interrupt at any moment.

Diapers, blowouts, laundry, dishes, feeding, bathing, etc.

Somehow it all increases even though that baby is so tiny.

When that infant is finally and blissfully asleep, that silence can be such a GIFT.

As those tiny ones grow older and bigger and more capable, they can get into more things and make bigger messes that take more time out of your day to clean up.

It’s absolutely worth it, but all of the exploration and messes can definitely get frustrating.

Then, it happens. The silence that ISN’T golden.

Every mama knows (or will know EXACTLY what this is). One moment your child(ren) are playing and making noise, and the next, it’s quiet…too quiet.

This usually means said child(ren) are getting into or doing something they should NOT, and the silence is because they’re trying to hide it!

The funny and “thank the Lord” part of all of this, is, it usually doesn’t work. The Mama Radar is in full-swing and can sense from minuscule to huge amounts of change in behavior that our children don’t necessarily expect.

This is a gift from God! Mamas literally DO “have eyes” in the back of their heads, thanks to this. God knew what He was doing, right? That radar sure comes in handy!

On a more serious note, if you are sensing something is “off” or “wrong” concerning one or more of your children, take that to Jesus and get what He has to say. He has the perfect strategy for each situation and the perfect love and patience for all involved.

Remember mama, you do not mother alone. This is a partnership with Daddy God and He is right there with you, guiding you, comforting, protecting, and providing for your every need.

It is going to be okay.

Much love and blessings!

Kristi
