Your cup feels empty.
Your patience is long gone.
The built-up resources you accumulated in preparation for your motherhood journey have now all been exhausted.
And you are exhausted beyond anything you knew to be possible.
But, the children still need to be fed, clothed, taught, and cared for. Your house still needs your attention…and so do the pets and your spouse and possibly your extended family and friends…
And all you want to do is curl up into a little ball, cry, and fall asleep for at least half a day.

The pace can be relentless. The requirements steep. This motherhood thing is not for the faint of heart. Even those who dreamed of being mothers come to the end of themselves. Those who wanted this sometimes wonder what they were thinking.
Stand your ground. Hold onto Jesus with everything you’ve got, even if it’s barely a thread.
He will never leave you up a creek without a paddle. Even if it physically hurts to think of reaching your heart and mind out to Him. One. More. Time…do it anyway.
You are being stretched and grown and your capacity is increasing. This is all part of the grand motherhood package that is all-encompassing.
The only way you will be able to handle more is by being taken out of your comfort zone and being stretched.

It’s not easy. It’s not comfortable. It’s not something we would usually choose to do for fun.
But, it’s necessary.
When these times hit, and they will, don’t give up. Dig deeper into Jesus and you will find the strength, stamina, and refreshing you so crave. You might need to do this every few minutes for a while, and that’s okay. One of my favorite prayers is, “Jesus help me!” And He always does.
The faster we learn to give up our ways and our plans and run to Him and do what He wants, the better our lives will be, and the better we will be at mothering.
So allow His process of refinement through your motherhood journey. The reward is well-worth the pain.
You’ve got this!!!
Love and blessings,
Kristi
