Mama, You’re Enough

Sweet, little hands holding yours.

Peanut butter all smeared on you and your little one because he’s learning how to feed himself.

A rare (and very much celebrated) “yes mommy” and quick obedience when asked to do something.

Laundry on the floor, in the washer and the dryer, filling the baskets and the hampers, your drawers running on empty.

And also dishes and meals.

This is the life.

It might not look or feel the way you thought it would and you may not be sure you’re doing it right. In fact, you may be pretty sure you’re messing something up on an almost daily basis, so why keep trying?

Because you are enough.

Your “momming” is enough.

You are mom enough for your children. They need YOU. They need real, raw, doing your best, you.

Now, let me quickly say that “doing your best” changes on a day-to-day basis. One day, it might be that everyone is fed, clothed, and kept alive. Another day, you might be seriously killing it and busting out a ton of housework and the kids are perfectly dressed and all the meals are on point.

Each of those days is a win.

Really!

God loves you so much and He loves your children even more that you ever could. Think about this…He knew all about you and STILL chose you for your children! His love is so big that He gifted you with heavenly treasure, entrusted you with it, knowing that you would mess up, but that through your messes, you would point your children to Him. And that is what makes you enough. He makes you enough.

His love completes us and fills us up. It drives us to do better and supports our efforts along the way. We are never alone in this calling of motherhood, never! God’s plan all along was to do it with us, showing us what to do and teaching us everything we need to raise these children He gave us.

So, mama?

You. Are. Enough.

Each day is enough. Think about all of the seeds you are planting and watering. They are growing! One day you WILL see them sprout and produce fruit. I promise.

You are a GOOD mom!

And you’re doing a great job.

Much love and blessings!

Kristi
