Oh, don’t you just hear the rest of that song from the Charlie Brown Christmas movie?
Yes, Christmas is indeed here. And with it come ALLLLLLL the hopes, wishes, expectations (real and ridiculous), and feelings that we know and love. Or maybe not. Maybe Christmas is a bummer time for you. Super sad, maybe. Or just downright depressing. Whether it’s the most wonderful time of the year or the utter worst, I am sending you the BIGGEST hug! Breathe. Look into my eyes. You. Can. Do. This.
Yes, YES, you can!!!
If this Christmas isn’t all you were hoping, take a breath. Stop. Sit down. Feel those feelings. It’s okay to have them. You aren’t broken or weird to be feeling them. Now, let’s pull out some truth to give our inner woman some strength for the road ahead.
Are you loved? Yes!
Are you cared for? Yes!
Are you provided for? Yes!
Are you protected? Yes!
Are you going to be okay? YES!
Okay, so here’s the thing. If you just read all those and think I’m crazy for saying “yes” for you to all of those questions, hang in there with me for a sec. The reason I can say “yes” is Jesus.
When no one else loves you, He does. When no one else cares for you or about you, He does. When you look at your bank account and your pantry and you want to panic and scream and cry in fear of not having enough, He perfectly provides all you need, RIGHT when you need it (believe me, I have SO many stories regarding this!). If you aren’t feeling safe or protected and fear swirls around you, stop and BREATHE. Jesus has promised to NEVER leave us nor forsake us. He is our perfect protector! Go and read Psalm 91 out loud. I promise you’ll feel better!

Last, but not least, you and I are definitely going to be okay. Because. Jesus. His perfect love, mercy, kindness, compassion, strength, wisdom, power, and grace is filling us and is right at our fingertips. We do not have to go through this alone, ever. Pull Him in. Ask Him into your Christmastime this year, your holiday season. He has the best plans! They will probably look and feel different, but you can totally trust His kindness, His goodness, and His love for you…and all of those drive His plans for your life and this Christmas/holiday season.
So. Pull out the scrapbook paper or the crayons or bake some premade cookies and try something new! Find the Christmas magic in what is around you and in what you have at your fingertips. I think you’ll be surprised at what you come up with, and this Christmas can be the best one yet!
Love and hugs,
Kristi
xoxo
